Closed Circuit Rebreathers

The experience of diving a Closed Circuit Rebreather is unmatchable. Each unit has their differences but each offers the chance to explore the underwater world without the noise of bubbles.

In a bubble free environment you are free from the main cause of disturbance that obstructs you getting close to the marine life. Technology has evolved tremendously over the past few years and here at Tech Divers Puerto Galera  we are proud of our ability to keep up with the progression and offer our customers training on a variety of Rebreathers which enable you to make the choice that is best for you.

Rebreathers are almost as old as diving itself. Nevertheless, until recently only a chosen few used, or had access to this technology. Only a few years ago rebreathers were restricted to the exclusive use of the military whose operational requirements demanded tough fitness tests and strict training regimes. Due to a shortage of knowledge as to the physiological implications of rebreather diving and the lack of structured training programs, the pioneering efforts and interest of sport divers in the 1950’s quickly faded away and rebreather diving found an early end. The equipment was labelled as dangerous and unsuitable for the recreational diver.

Today, early in a new Millenium, technology has moved on and much has changed. As a result, the dive industry has turned its attention once again to rebreathers and organizations such as IART and IANTD have developed safe, practical training courses, fine tuned to the needs of the recreational diver and to the specific rebreather models available. For the first time the number of recreational rebreather divers exceed those of the military.

We are able to train divers on various Semi-Closed Rebreather (SCR) and Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR) from beginner right the way through to Trimix and a full range of Instructor Courses through either IART (International Association of Rebreather Trainers) or IANTD (International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers). Units available include: Draeger Dolphin SCR, Draeger Ray SCR, Submatix SCR, Tourill Passive SCR, AP Valves Inspiration CCR, AP Valves Evolution CCR, Jetsam Classic KISS CCR, Jetsam Sports KISS CCR, Innerspace Megalodon CCR, Prism Topaz CCR, MK 15 Series CCR.
