
This course is designed to extend the diver's knowledge in the use of EANx for recreational diving. Further developing skills and a greater understanding of the EANx concept of diving, using EANx mixes of 21% - 50%.
What do I need to start?
- IANTD Basic EANx diver.
- Minimum of 15 logged dives or have experience as a deep air diver.
- Minimum of 50 dives, including 10 between 27msw and 39msw.
- Minimum 15 years old with parental consent, otherwise 18 years old.
What will I do?
EAD concept, Oxygen physiology, % CNS 02 & Pulmonary toxicity tracking, use of EAD's, use of EANx as a decompression gas. Gas switching techniques, partial pressures and best mixes. Written exam. Open water work, including deployment of delayed SMB, incorporated in 4 dives, of which 2 must be between 30 & 39 metres.
Students are taught the use of EANx mixtures from 21% to a maxium of 40% oxygen for diving. EANx mixtures in the range of 41% to 50% oxygen are used to teach the fundamentals of safety and decompressions stops.
